Notes:

  • It was so nice to get some biking miles in with Dad this week (and last!). It made me think maybe I should do a longer ride or two before RAGBRAI (in four weeks!).
  • I took extra time off running while my parents were here, and my legs appreciated it when I went on my next run – I felt fresh! I also took days off after they left – I chose naps and sleeping in over running. I needed the rest!
  • We got the start of our hot and humid weather this week. It’s a drastic change from how unusually cool the rest of June was. I slowed way down for my long run and felt fine, just so sweaty and drippy. I need to bring a towel with me or something.
  • Monthly recap! In June I ran 173.8 miles (22 runs). My coldest run was 48°F and my warmest was 78°F. I cycled 82.16 miles (2 indoor rides, 3 outdoor rides). I taught 6 strength classes, and 3 fitness boxing classes. I really enjoyed my “commute” runs to feed Athena and Midge at the beginning of the month! I’d like to keep the running momentum going as it gets hotter, but I’ll probably end up cutting back a bit to get some rides in.
