Notes:
- I got an email from a client right before I left for my Tuesday run at 5:30 am, so I struggled to get work out of my mind during the run. I kept thinking about the client and all the work I had to do. Sigh. NO MORE WORK EMAIL READING BEFORE EARLY RUNS. I finally got work off my mind when I saw some clown driving his car on the trail (what the heck, dude). I picked up my speed to get away from him (and called him in to the forest preserve police). Thanks for the boost in pace, random clown!
- I hit 1,000 miles run on my Wednesday run! I would have hit it on Tuesday – my mileage was 999.1 when I finished my run, but I had no idea I was that close! Oops! Ha.
- I actually rode my bike! Twice! Yay! Go me! I don’t plan on riding a lot of miles to prepare for RAGBRAI, but I do want to get my butt used to my bike seat. (Whoa, it was SORE on Sunday, on my second ride.)
- And I actually did speedwork! Whoa! Banner week!
- Fitness Boxing was fun this week. I’ve been wanting to get my students outside for a fun “leap frog” game (where we all walk fast in a straight line and the person in the back has to run to the front of the line), and I finally did it, and I think they liked it! (That was just one small segment of class, but completely new for all of us.)
- I was out late for me Saturday night and slept in Sunday and didn’t have time to do a weekend long run. Womp womp. I always feel guilty when I skip one, which is silly, since I am not training for anything. I DO need to work out in the am to be in a good mood though, I’ve learned. I am aiming for early runs Monday and Tuesday. Then my parents will be in town Thursday through the following Wednesday, and I hope to get some rides in with Dad, and some run (me)/ rides (him) in too!
- As a heads up, I don’t feel like forcing my classes to take strength pictures as much anymore, so I’ve replaced their picture with pictures of the cats.
Someone was driving their car on the trail! That’s crazy…glad you reported it. And you know I’m always a fan of more kitty photos 🙂
I was so dumbfounded by it! And it creeped me out, since it was just me and this dude WITH HIS CAR on the trail. I definitely had my pepper spray ready to go when I passed him.
YAY!!! 🙂 More kitty photos you shall receive!
The leapfrog workout sounds like a lot of fun! I always enjoy something completely different thrown in there once in a while. My workout group did a sled workout outside, competing against each other in teams. I would have LOVED doing that! Hoping that when I do get back, I will be able to do sleds.
Oh, and maybe because they’re small pictures in a collage on your blog, I’ve not really had an opinion one way or the other about the group pics post-workout, but when the Camp Gladiator pictures flood my FB feed with a few of my friends tagged in them, for each workout, I get sick of that and also that’s a huge reason why I am not interested in joining CG – don’t take and post my picture all the time! I asked friend who’s been doing CG for a few months if they take her picture after each workout and she sheepishly said yes. She doesn’t really like it but she goes along with it. So yeah, you are probably doing the right thing with your group pictures.
Oh, and the 1,000 miles in half a year is just astounding to me. Normally that would be my two year mileage!
That sled workout sounds fun! I wish our gym had sleds, and battle ropes. And I hope you get to do the sleds when you go back too!!!!!
So CG takes the pics and post them publicly? That is not cool. I was taking them and posting them on our private FB (then would use them here) but not many other instructors were doing it, and yeah, I know some of my students hate it, so I am done doing it for every class and SHOULD HAVE stopped a long time ago. I feel bad that I haven’t.
Thanks! That is an amazing two year mileage too! (And anyone doing whatever their workout is, is amazing, to me!!!)
