Happy first day of June! Where has the year gone? What have I accomplished?! Anything? Ha.
Planning for this month has been weird! Several things have been scheduled and canceled and rescheduled. Here’s what I think I’m looking forward to!
- Checking in on Bobbi’s cats while they’re (Bobbi and fam, not the cats) on vacation! I’m going to bring a spare feather toy over (we have a few) and see if they go bonkers for it.
- Seeing Rachel! I haven’t in a few months (eek!) and we have plans to meet up!
- Seeing Mica! She is coming to Chicago for work!
- My parents visiting! They’re coming for a long weekend and I’m taking both jobs off so we can just hang and have fun together.
- Seeing The Rolling Stones with Steven and my parents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Getting a big contract assigned at work. There will be a lot of work after the contract goes out, but it’s the first big step.
- Getting a temporary promotion at work. I’m in an “acting” role at work and will be compensated for it, starting in mid June. Yay!
- Being home for the whole month! Both our trips were fun in May, but I like being home.
- All the good books I have to read from the library!
- Hitting 1,000 miles run for the year! I think I will hit this around June 14th, which is the typical date for me (last year was early, on May 31).
What’s on your list?
Man you have a lot of fun things going on! And the Rolling Stonesssssssssssss!!!
That is gonna be memorable!
Yes! I am so excited! I can’t wait to hear which songs they play!
So many good things happening for you in June AND while you’re staying put at home, so that will be so nice. π I’m so excited for you about the Rolling Stones – ahh!
Thanks! I am too! And am so happy we aren’t traveling. I need a reset month π
Ooooh, congrats on your temporary promotion! Is there any chance it’ll become permanent (if that’s something that interests you)?
Thank you! I would definitely like a permanent promotion to this level (we have pay tables where I work and this is a grade up).
It’s complicated. The position I am doing the temporary promotion in did not have the right job description to be paid more, yet they were. So they could get rid of the job entirely, re-write the description at the higher grade, or get rid of the job and come up with a new higher grade position. I hope there is a change for a permanent promotion after this four month detail, because I’ve been in this position over ten years (minus my last detail) and I am ready to move up!
