I had three instances of instant kinship yesterday. Three! That’s nuts! I saved the best one for last:

ONE
I met some alumni from my university. Cool beans! They graduated in the late 80s (I graduated in 2007) and it was fun to talk about campus for a bit.

TWO
I saw a runner on the road by our house!!! INSERT CAT MAKING HOME ALONE FACE. Every time this happens I immediately think “I’m not alone! Other people run out here too!” then “be my friend!” (Lots of people bike around my house, but runners are rare.)

THREE
On Wednesday a coworker I don’t see much commented on our cats’ pictures on my notebook so yesterday I was asking about her cats then we gushed about cats for five minutes AND THEN I found out she does the same thing with her boyfriend that Steven and I do – send a series of zoomed in pictures of our cats to each other until it’s just a close up of their face.

It’s the most amazing thing ever

That was more that instant kinship. It was like a Step Brothers “Did we just become best friends?!” moment. I THINK WE DID. We are now following each other on Instagram and sending each other cat emojis at work. Yay!

I liked the new Taylor Swift song “You Need to Calm Down” instantly the first time I heard it, and have been listening to it on repeat. I love the beat, the “oh-oh”s, AND the message of the song! And I actually like the video, which is rare for me with music videos. (Thanks to Dave for posting about it, which made me watch it!)
