I’m a fan of sun photos. You may have guessed it if you follow me on Instagram.

What am I NOT a fan of?! THE GREEN DOT!!!!

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The green dot (and haze and lens flare, which I don’t mind) is caused when you take a photo of a strong light source, and the light comes in at a certain angle and reflects off the lens cover or the surface inside the camera. It’s kind of unavoidable with the iPhone I have (an 8????). In real cameras, you get an UV or polarizing filter to deal with it.

I sometimes take care of it by placing the green dot over the sun, which washes it out. When I don’t like that composition, I position it so it’s in an area that’s easy to “heal” with the Pixlr app on my phone, or with the “spot healing brush tool” in Photoshop.

But I HAVE to get rid of it. It’s such an eyesore to me!

Ahh, all better.

Does anyone else even NOTICE the green dot when they see it? It this only an iPhone thing?! Fill out the poll below!

How does the green dot make you feel?
