Sunday | February 17, 2019: rest (sick)
Notes:
- Gah, I felt so sleepy on Tuesday. I rested (napped!) instead of working out. Then rested again on my in office day Wednesday (but walked all over the city and got a ton of steps in). I think my body was preparing to get a cold. I woke up Thursday with a sore throat and runny nose. Mucinex to the rescue!
- My local preserve has a paved road through it that I like to run back and forth to get my mileage up, while feeling safe away from (more) cars. But this year they’ve blocked off part of the road and aren’t plowing it! Wah! (But the bonus to it being blocked off is less creepers driving back and forth through the park, so that’s something.)
- Ahh, Thursday’s run was in the 40s! Windy, but I got to wear capris! And Steven drove by for part of my run, which is always exciting, as I wonder when he’ll drive by and try to have good form, ha ha.
- Ugh, I woke up Saturday with my cold feeling better and decided to try a long run. And it was notably crappy. Oops. So… not actually feeling better. I rested the rest of the weekend. I felt achy, had some chills, a painful cough, leaky nose and eyes, and lots of pressure in my ears. But no fever! So… yay? I normally work out if my lungs feel fine (they did except when coughing), but the aches and chills (and general weakness) kept me resting.
I hope you feel better soon!!
Thanks!
Oh man, sorry you are sick! Rest rest rest – and I hope you feel better!
Thanks! I rested a ton last week and this weekend and yesterday and I am feeling more like myself today!
Creepers in the park??? Ewww…
Hope you’re feeling better soon – take good care!
Yeah, there are dudes who drive their car back and forth, slowly on the road, while I’m running. So odd to me. Then again, maybe they wonder why I’m running back and forth on the road.
Thanks! I feel much better today!
I am still waiting for my first nice weather day 🙂 I’m glad you didn’t regret not doing the 5k. You just never know. The first year I didn’t do Tri for a Cure I was so happy not to have to do the ocean swim. But then the first year I didn’t sign up for the Maine Half I totally regretted it.
I hope you get a nice weather day soon!
I talked to someone who did the 5K and he said it was short by a tenth – they cut off part of the course! That made me even happier I skipped it (that plus the winds, ha). Why did you regret not going the Maine Half?
I regretted it because all my runner friends were doing it. And I felt like a lazy bum for going to brunch instead!
I bet all your friends wished they were at brunch with you instead of racing!
