Notes:

  • It was so warm Monday (high 40s and windy, ha ha – that seems warm now) that I took some leave from work so I could do a longer run in the warmth. Totally worth it!
  • I got a massage on Thursday! I hadn’t had one since mid October. Shame on me! I made them a monthly thing most of last year and then somehow skipped November and December (and thought about getting one January, but was furloughed and didn’t think I should spend the money).
  • If last week was all about the snow then cold, this week was all about the ice… then cold. Thursday’s run was pretty slick, and I ran inside Friday because it was 5°F out, but hella windy. I’m grateful for access to indoor running means!
  • And I like that I can work on my gait and mental game on the indoor track! I usually listen to a podcast then turn on music at the end of the run to speed up.
  • I did NOT mean to do back to back long runs on Friday and Saturday. That was my mistake for not coordinating better with Rachel! I knew we were running 16 (she is training for the Milwaukee Marathon in April) but didn’t ask which day. Oops. I felt fine for both, and the normal amount of sore after the 16.
  • I used my new hydration vest on the 16-miler. Steven’s dad got it for me for Christmas (aka THIS IS NOT SPONSORED). I like my previous Nathan vest (also a gift from Steven’s dad!) so much (it was just ripping and smelly) that I went with Nathan again, with the VaporAiress. I thought it would be weird since it sits a lot higher than my previous vest and doesn’t adjust on sides it actually felt GREAT! I just have to get used to having higher pockets and straps to deal with while running.
  • So, obviously cycling is not a priority right now. Oops? I better get on the bike – I am teaching a cycling class on February 23rd!
  • Strength class was a lot of fun this week and my abs were so sore from it! Laughing hurt this weekend!
  • I was so lucky to get to run and visit with Rachel three weekends in a row! I will miss her company next weekend!
