Notes:

  • I thought Monday’s run with temps in the 20s would feel good after some single digit runs, but the wind actually made it feel worse. And the snow and slush everywhere. Man, that slows me down. Ugh.
  • I was all pumped to run early Tuesday in shorts and a tank on the track. I even woke up before my alarm! But I felt super sluggish during my run, blah. It was my eighth day in a row of running as I got back to my “Wednesday rest day” schedule. No wonder my legs were tired. And gah the air at the track is so dry! Wah wah wah. Of course, I am grateful I can run there at all!
  • On Thursday I went to a less expensive indoor track since I was running fewer miles. It’s farther away, and 7 laps to a mile versus 6 laps at the other track. And people don’t follow the lane rules as well there. But alas, it’s a nice option to have. Speedwork felt MUCH better inside, even with the turns. I could actually pick up speed, since I was running in shorts and a tank, and not through slush and on ice!
  • Friday 5:00 am strength class returned this week! It was great to see everyone and we had a fun workout. But man, I was so tired that afternoon. Ugh. At least I usually have every other Friday off (and can nap). That helps.
  • When I was finishing up my Friday run, a neighbor jokingly said to me “I saw you leave for a run last week, and you weren’t gone very long!” Um, yeah, it’s cold (is what I told her). Ha. She probably saw me running on the 8°F day!
  • It was so nice to run outside Saturday with temps in the 20s/30s! It felt so warm compared to earlier in the week (the high on Wednesday was -13 or something). Sunday’s run felt hella warm!
  • I got to run with Rachel, again! She text me Friday night to ask if I wanted to do a snowshoe race Sunday. Hells yeah! More on the race later this week!
  • Monthly recap! In January I ran 175.7 miles (26 runs), cycled 83 miles (7 indoor rides), and swam 0 yards. I did 4 speed sessions and 0 hill sessions. My coldest run was 1°F and my warmest was 52°F. I did 5 strength workouts at home, taught 3 strength classes and 2 fitness boxing classes, and did 1 one-on-one sessions.
