Sayonara 2018! What an up and down year (aren’t they all?). There was a lot of crappy stuff in 2018 – I didn’t get to apply for my work detail position, Snow died, a family member had a stroke, I crashed my car, and Data died.
Blah.
There was great stuff too – I PR’d in the half marathon, we adopted kittens, went on an actual vacation, and made lots of memories with friends and family.
The good outweighs the bad, but man, I am ready to say goodbye to this year! Here’s what I’m looking forward to in January:
- Meeting my new nephew!
- My snister receiving his blanket
- Not getting up at 3:50 am on Fridays
- A late Christmas celebration with Steven’s family
- A few birthdays
- The RAGBRAI route announcement
- Getting back to my workout and eating routine after slacking since JUNE
- QUIET
What’s on your list?
Holy $h!t! I missed the car crash completely last spring…reading that was incredibly scary and so glad you are OK. I would say with all of the challenges of last year, 2019 has high potential! Happy New Year!
It was scary! I’ve felt weird driving on the snow on the highway so far this year. But so far, all good. LOL!
Happy New Year! I hope 2019 is a great year for you!
Thank you!
No more Friday 5:00 AM class?
We’re taking a month off and it will be back in February.
Whoa, you were getting up at 3:50am on Fridays? Was that for teaching?
Yeah, wow, seeing all the bad from 2018, that was really a lot. I hope 2019 is better!
My list? I just like the “Fresh start” aspect of January, so I’m trying to set up some good habits for the rest of the year.
Yeah, since I moved in February 2016 I’ve had to get up earlier to teach that class since I live farther away.
Thanks! I bet it will be! And if it’s not, I have great support in my friendships like you! 🙂
Great! What good habits?
I was very glad to bid farewell to 2018! I had some very high highs in 2018 that should’ve made it one of the best years ever, but they were more like a couple bright spots amidst a whole lot of dark spots, which made the year on the whole feel pretty crummy. I was not sad to see it go!
I’m looking forward to quiet in January, too. Right now, I have ONE weekend plan. Total. For the whole month. *sobs with joy* I’m so excited to do NOTHING!
I am sorry your year was like that! That is a great way to describe it – just a few bright spots, because those lows feel really dark (I am assuming, as mine did).
YASSSSSSS, keep it that way! QUIET JANUARY!
January looks so beautiful for you! A new nephew, not waking up at that ungodly hour on Fridays, and a Christmas celebration. Yay!
As you know, I am VERY happy to say goodbye to 2018. It was a just plain awful year, and I’m looking forward to what 2019 brings!
I think it will be! I hope there aren’t any horrible surprises, ha ha!
Yes! I hope you have a great 2019!
It sounds like you are not the only person looking forward to doing a lot less in 2019! Me too! Last year was great in a lot of ways (trips and lots of visitors) but also some really tough things that made it a hard year. So I am hoping that things will be a bit calmer and I can also get back into my good exercise and eating routines, and do some sewing, practice piano, meditate – these are the things that tend to fall by the wayside when life gets busy.
I hope you have time for all those things, too! Because those are the things that help us handle the hard stuff! And handle the busy!
I am on day 2 of enjoying some QUIET and it’s wonderful. 🙂
Yay! And I hope you are feeling better each day!
