- I’ve learned that not working means I don’t want to spend much time on my computer, which equates to you getting the bare bones kimhastheruns posts – Random Thoughts Thursday and Training Week recaps.
- We were in Kansas City last weekend for a late Christmas with Steven’s family. My snister lives in Kansas City too, so I got to see her and her family, and my parents (who were visiting) as well. And I got to meet Leo! What a sweetie!
- Christina gave me this bracelet with her two son’s initials on it. Love!
- After mild weather since Thanksgiving, winter has finally hit us! We got a lot of snow while we were out of town, and more yesterday. And now the temperatures are plummeting. I’m glad I bought those gym passes so I can use the indoor track!
- Yes, I really have nothing else going on, so I just talked about the weather. Sigh. I miss interacting with people on a mostly daily basis.

LEO!! Babies are just so cute. I want to hold them all. Which would probably be weird for a lot of moms out there, haha. That bracelet is such a sweet gift – I love how close you and your sister are.
Any knitting projects going on now that you’ve finished the baby blanket?
They are! It’s so nice to hold them (and give them back when they need something I don’t have, ha ha ha). Thanks! I love it too! π
Yes! I am actually knitting the same blanket in the original colors I made for William, for a coworker who is due with a boy in April. I am almost done with it!
Aww, yay for meeting Leo! He looks sooo teeny tiny! That’s a really nice bracelet that your sister got you π
Ooooh, I’m jealous of your indoor track access. I’ve been stuck on the treadmill all week, and I really think I’d rather run in a million circles than on the treadmill. I just want to GO somewhere when I run!
He is! But in my mind I keep comparing him to William, who was quite a bit smaller as a newborn! <3
Are there not many indoor track options by you? We have a few out here. I would think they would in the city, too!
Awww, baby Leo. That little finger sticking up is so teeny tiny. I’m glad you got to meet him!
I can keep emailing you cat questions and you can turn this blog into a Q&A about having cats, hahaha. π I hope you can get back to work soon. It has to be miserable to not have your regular routine and have no idea WHEN you will get it back!
It is!!!!!!!!! I am so glad too. I hope to see him again next month or March!
Ha, yes! I should add a page for “Kim’s opinions on raising cats” LOL! I like feeling useful in giving you my input, so thanks for asking my opinion.
It is miserable! It feels crazy it’s gone on this long!
What a sweet picture of you with Leo! Love it!
Also love the road through the snowy woods picture…so idyllic…
Thank you!
Thanks π I love love love how our house/property looks with all the snow. It’s our little cottage it the woods! <3
What a cutie pie! So happy you were able to meet him.
You should come downtown on a weekend and meet up with me! π or, we should meet up in MKE- I want to go back for a night.
Me too!!!!
That sounds good! We should do that once it’s not -12554 degrees! Which will hopefully be soon. Ooo, I think you guys would REALLY like the sausage and beer bar we went to in MKE, and we totally want to go back https://www.vanguardbar.com/.
That was a sweet present from Christina! I’m sure she and Will were so happy that you could meet him and see William too.
I wonder why being off the computer from work makes you avoid being on the computer generally. I mean, it’s always good to get other things done, but I would think that you’d have more tolerance for it because you don’t have to stare at it for work. Am I getting this wrong? (Also, this doesn’t matter at all, and I’m not trying to sound judgmental. I’m genuinely curious!)
You didn’t come off as judgmental! I wanted to feel productive each day, and noticed if I sat down at the computer to read blogs and respond to emails it would take me an hour or two (which seemed nuts!) so I was trying to get other things done first, running, cleaning, errands, whatever. Then by the time I could sit at the computer, I usually just wanted to relax (take a bath, read, nap, play with cats) so I often didn’t. On the days I did use the computer first, I got out the door for things way later than I thought I would.
So, I never realized how much of a time suck it was until I wasn’t sitting by it all day for work!
