Notes:

  • Ugh, I was waffling about whether to run Tuesday or bike and walk instead. I decided to run since I had the time (and might not on the weekend) and felt blah at first. I think I need to run in shorts and a tank for a change of “scenery.” Which feels weird saying, since our winter had been super mild until then.
  • I had a nice chat with a neighbor I hadn’t met yet on Wednesday at the beginning of my run. Yay for meeting people randomly in the middle of the day because I’m furloughed.
  • I did a lot of running on snow this week, which slows me down, but mostly feels good on my feet. Saturday and Sunday’s runs were on snow with a layer of ice underneath, which got interesting at times.
  • I crammed all my workouts in to the beginning of the week because we traveled this weekend (and I have less time to myself to workout) and also, because it was going to be so cold and snowy where I was traveling, anyway. It’s also cold and snowy at home (I heard we got 8 inches of snow).
  • I didn’t fit any speedwork in this week. Ugh!
  • I think I need to start bringing my back pack on runs. There are not enough water spots open in the winter to run with a bottle! My father-in-law just got me a new hydration pack I am excited to use.
  • In case it’s not obvious, I am trying to build my endurance back up! I was regularly running 40+ miles a week until mid summer then cut back. I miss that. I miss being lighter and running faster and am excited to get to that point again. (But of course, I am happy to be running at all!)
