Leo Alexiou, my snister’s second son, arrived Tuesday morning! His birthday is one day after his big brother William’s! He was 9 lbs 1 oz and 21.5 inches long.
Will, William, Christina, and Leo
Alexiou, his middle name, was my great grandfather’s Greek last name that got changed to “Ilax” (our maiden name) at Ellis Island in the late 1910s. I love that they used that! And love how Leo Alexiou sounds.
They’re both doing well, and are home now, and William is loving being a big brother. I can’t wait to meet him next week! Baby snuggles here I come!!!!
Congratulations, Christina and Will!
That’s wonderful news!!! Congratulations to Christina, Will and William, and also to Aunt Kim and Uncle Steven 🙂
How cool your great-grandfather came through Ellis Island – has anyone ever traced the family line back to Greece?
Thank you!
Yes, some distant family members have! They actually contacted me in college when they found my blog because it was called “ilaxstudio.” I don’t remember everything they found out, but they sent me some info!
Congratulations to all of you on your newest family member!!
Thank you!
Awww, congratulations to everyone on little Leo! 🙂 I love when family names are carried on, and that’s so cool that the boys have birthdays so close to each other!
Thanks! I think it’s cool too 🙂 And it definitely helps me remember when they are! 🙂
How sweet! Congratulations to them, and to you, auntie!
I love the meaning behind his middle name. <3
Thank you!
I love it too! It’s actually something I was considering for a tattoo for a while 🙂
Yay, what happy news!!! Leo is so cute and how fun that he and William will get to have joint birthday parties in the future! Love his full name – really neat of Christina to bring it back like this. Congratulations to your entire family!
I think that will be super fun for them too! (and hopefully easier for Christina?! ha)
Thank you!
He is so cute. I love his names. Look at all that hair! Congrats Auntie.
Thanks! I love all his hair too! AHH!!! <3 <3 <3
Aww yay!! What a cutie! That’s so exciting 🙂 I love his middle name! What a lovely tribute to your family’s history. I wanted to ask about it as soon as I saw it at the beginning of the post, so I’m glad you explained it without me having to ask, ha. Congratulations!
Thanks! I love it too. I figured people would wonder about it, and it’s fun to share! I recently realized a coworker had the same thing happen to his grandpa when he came over from Greece!
Welcome to Leo, who has a great name! What is William’s middle name? (He looks like a very serious big brother.)
His middle name is the same as his dad’s – Link (after the Zelda character) 🙂
