Ahhh, the zipper broke on my purse and we weren’t able to fix it at home! It’s currently at the tailor while I’ll carry my belongings around in this:
Classy
I was telling my fitness boxing students the woes of being purse-less (as I had just dropped off my purse before teaching, and tell them everything anyway) and not being able to find the EXACT same color and style to replace it (I think I’ll need to because the new zipper color isn’t going to match), and a few students said the idea of using the same purse all year round was foreign to them – that they switch purses constantly! And couldn’t imagine always using the same one – that they need to switch things up!
Ha. This is the only purse (a version of the Baggalini Hobo Tote) I’ve EVER consistently used! Before it, I’d be more likely to carry a wallet, chapstick, and sunglasses on their own. Or, horror of horrors, in a backpack. I’m not in to purses (despite having several… they’re all gifts). I’m in to pockets. And not carrying a bunch of stuff.
Anyway! Let’s hope this new zipper isn’t super atrocious when I pick it up Friday, and I can keep using the same purse! (Who are we kidding – I’ll use it even if it is.)

I carry my wallet, etc. in whatever makes sense based on the situation. I take a backpack to work, so carrying a purse feels redundant to me – why do I need two items both designed to hold my stuff when there’s enough space in one to accomplish what I need? So then I just have my backpack. But I don’t bring my backpack to, like, a friend’s house or the movies or whatever, so then I’ll bring the things I need in a purse. I only have small purses, so they don’t really become a place to store much other than the absolute essentials anyway – and I like it like that! I lose a lot less stuff into the purse void now! And I definitely don’t have seasonal purses. I have a black one and a brown one, but that’s it.
So do you keep the other purse-like things (chapstick, glasses, etc.) in your backpack and transfer them back and forth too? I used to only use my backpack until I got this purse and you’re right – it’s redundant (and annoying!) to carry both!
Have you ever been at a party where they play the purse games to see what random crap people have in there? LOL, it’s kind of amusing. I wouldn’t get very far. The weirdest thing in mine is probably a handmade hot drink cuff.
Kim, skimming your comment led me to believe you had a homemade hand cuff in your purse. ::insert laughing/crying emoji here::
Ha ha ha ha. Don’t be silly, I don’t keep those in my PURSE! 😉
Oooh, handcuffs? Racy! 😉
I have a small back pack/purse that I am loving right now – so handy, especially walking and biking, and it puts less strain on my one shoulder. Not sure if I’ll ever go back to a traditional purse…
Ha ha ha, you guys!!!!
Ooo, I am curious to see it! Do you have a pic or link?

Thank you! I like it!
I would never be able to trust myself switching out my purse constantly! I feel like I would always forget something in my other purse. I use one purse at a time, usually for about 6ish months and then I decide I want something new.
You would have to completely dump it out next to the other one to make sure you got everything! I almost forgot my train pass today because I am using this stupid bag. Ha ha.
I’m all over the place. I carry a backpack to work so I put my wallet in there for work days (and sometimes forget it). My back pack has chapstick, train tickets, laptop, etc.
Then I have a small purse at work that I throw my wallet/phone/ID card into when I go out during lunch so I am not lugging my backpack or carrying those things loose.
I have a larger purse that at home that I use because I can throw my phone/wallet into but also carry diapers/wipes/whatever when I have the kids with me.
Then a smaller purse for when I don’t have the kids.
Then sometimes I’ll just carry my wallet/phone without any purse if I have pockets that they’ll fit into.
I used to switch out my purse periodically but it’s been a really long time that I’ve had the same main one. I also have a back pack diaper bag that I use on trips or when we are away an entire day. Hopefully by the fall I can retire that though.
Whoa! You are all over the place! But it sounds like you have a method!!!! 🙂
I think it’s great that you are getting your purse fixed instead of just tossing it! I switch out my bag often, but that’s usually based on the amount of space I need or where we’re going. If we’re walking a lot, I use a (horror!) backpack. Every bag has a tube of lip balm and at least one hair tie though! I still hope to find THAT purse though that I can use for everything and never have to switch out, but I find that I’m really tough on my stuff (shoes and bags) and they start to look grubby after a few years.
Thanks! I hope it looks okay when I pick it up! 🙂
I think a backpack makes sense for walking (minus the sweaty armpits it gives me)!
This purse gets grubby too. I have to wash it every month, and use a stain stick to treat spots on it! LOL!
