Baby Boy #2’s blanket is done and ready to ship! Yay!
His due date is January 11th and I’ll ship the blanket January 2nd. Think it will get to my snister before he arrives?!
I used this pattern from espacetricot.com for the blanket. We wanted the blanket to be bigger than William’s since she’ll use it for monthly photos (and William got too long for his!), so I added 48 rows (wowza) in width to the pattern and made it 200 rows long (24 wider and 20 longer than William’s).
I started it on December 4th and finished it on December 29th. I worked on it in several states (Wisconsin, Texas, Ohio) on a couple of trips. I learned NOT to knit when I’m tired while working on this. Oops.
I really enjoyed making this (so much I think I’ll start another for a coworker), and am honored Christina wants a baby blanket from me! I can’t wait to see her new little one on it! And I can’t wait to meet him!
You are such a good snister!! This blanket is adorable β€οΈ
Thank you! π
Ah can’t wait to receive it!! It is so beautiful and just perfect!! Thank you for all the time, effort, and $$ you spent to make it for my baby boy! He loves his Aunt Kim!!
I can’t wait for you to as well. Remember to never show anyone the back of it. Ha ha ha. You are welcome! I love him too!
Your stitching is beautiful, as is the blanket. What a treasured gift!
Thank you! π
This is such a beautiful pattern. It looks so cozy and perfect for a new baby! You are talented, my friend!
Thank you very much! π I just love this pattern! I wonder if it will look really dated in 20 years. Ha!
It looks beautiful, love the color choices!
Thanks! I am happy with how it turned out and that we went with this yellow and not the more vibrant one!
Wow, what a BEAUTIFUL blanket! It looks so pretty! Those colors are just perfect. Nice of the porg to model it for you, hahaha π
Thank you! Ha ha ha, glad you like it. I was like, “I don’t have a doll, what could I use…” ha ha ha.
It looks AMAZING and definitely like something people would spend a LOT of money for in a store! Congratulations on a very speedy knit. That’s so awesome that Christina appreciates all of your hard work and asked you specifically for such a special gift.
Despite the bigger size, was it easier this time around?
Thank you! I was asking Steven how much he thought someone would buy it for. “$30?” Ha ha, he was like “way more than that!” Christina totally does appreciate it!
It was easier! And when I went back to weave in I didn’t even see that spot on the edge I thought was so bad. I did a horrible job weaving in. I am weaving in as I go on the new one and the method I am using looks much better. Oops. Christina doesn’t care.
I felt all inspired by this and got out this old scarf pattern I bought in 2015 with cabling and whoa. Just whoa. I might not be there yet. I need to watch a zillion youtube vids to figure it out. (I bought it with yarn to make for my FiL for xmas 2015 LOL and thought maybe I could bang it out real quick before I see him in two weeks. Um, no.)
