- For months I’ve been wanting glittery nails for Christmas/New Year’s and I finally got them last week. They did NOT disappoint! I wonder if I could get away with them during other times of the year?!
- Since 2016, I’ve been texting Steven and my mom a photo of my daily calendar. For 2019, I asked for input on which calendar I should get, and here is what they chose:
- When I was at the vet last week (sans cats, just stopping by), our technician asked how the kittens were doing, so of course, I had to show her my “purse“* with their pictures on it. Ha! She laughed and said “You know, in the three years I’ve worked here, no one’s ever come in with a sweater with their pets on it.” CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. *I have my purse back now
- I’m trying to figure out how to have a clickable link to blog comments at the top (currently not clickable) and bottom (not there at all) of each post. Thanks for your patience while I figure this crap out! There’s all sorts of things I’ve had to edit on this new version of my blog and I don’t know
much about css anything about php so it takes me a while.
- We stayed at an Airbnb in Iowa Monday and Tuesday night and it was great… minus the smell of the place. We couldn’t pinpoint it. I thought it smelled like an old consignment shop, and Steven thought it smelled like bad potpourri. My clothes smelled like it, and my mom smelled those and thought it was moth balls. Ick. We both got slight headaches from it. Other than that, it’s great to rent a house over getting a hotel room – more space, park right by the entrance, and it’s cheaper! I just need to find a different one in town.

OMG the true challenge would be knitting the cat sweater yourself :p
Well the good thing is it’ll be worth the effort of finding a nice aribnb since you go there so often.
Ha, that would be a challenge! Definitely NOT gonna happen!
Yeah, so far, we haven’t loved the two we’ve tried! Luckily, there are others!
What Kathy said! Ha! Seriously, though, I am looking forward to seeing how you fulfill the challenge.
Boo to smelly Airbnb 🙁
I am sure it will just be printed on a sweatshirt! Ha!
Yeah. I really wonder what that was all about.
The glittery nails are awesome! I keep thinking that one of these days I’ll get my fingers nails painted for a special occasion. I’d say that you definitely don’t have to limit the glitter to this time of year!
As for the smelly Airbnb – it especially sucks that your clothes smelled after.
Thank you! Do it! It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to treat yourself!
Sigh, yeah. Some still smelled after the wash! Blah!
Glittery nails? Girl, you do you – ANYTIME YOU WANT THEM. No rules! Plus, sparkles!!
I can barely stand to shop at Kirklands for the heavy scent that not only runs through the store, but comes home with anything you purchase. I can only imagine how bad it must have been to have to sleep through that kind of scent…
Yes, I like the way you think! I think this is my fave manicure ever, and I can’t limit that to one time of the year!
Oh wow! What does it smell like there? What kind of store is that? I know Kirkland as the Costco brand – is this something else?!
Kirklands is a home decor store – they have some good stuff, but holy hell, the amount of potpourri wafting through the store is awful.
Ahh, gotcha! Yeah, yuck! I remember my mom taking me to those types of places when I was a kid and not being able to handle it!
Ooooh, cool calendar choice! My brother is a social studies teacher and does a “This day in history…” on his whiteboard every morning. This sounds like a perfect calendar for him! Hopefully I can remember that come November, haha. I used to get a different themed 365 day calendar every year, but then my aunt got me a puppy themed one for a few years in a row, so now that’s her “thing” – that she gets me a puppy themed 365 day calendar every year for my birthday (apparently they’re already for sale in September!). I didn’t mind mixing it up every year, but I can’t say I mind a full year of puppies every year, either 🙂
I bet your brother would like this one, then! It’s super detailed!
Aww, I have a tradition like that where I get my Grandma the Bad Cats one for each Christmas. They do sell these SO early. I swear I bought my 2017 one in the summer of 2016 or something silly!
I love glittery nails! I didn’t even realize it might look weird outside of the holiday season, so I say GO FOR IT!
Ugh, I wonder what the smell was. My guess is moth balls too. Did any of the reviews mention/identify it?
Woot! Thanks for your vote of confidence! I am getting a new mani tomorrow and will be sad to say goodbye to these.
They didn’t! I did in mine though.
