- When I got to the airport Tuesday I looked for my flight number to Chicago on the board and didn’t see it. I started to feel a bit panicked! Then I remembered I was flying to Milwaukee. Ha! That flight was on the board.
- On Tuesday night I did a video chat with a FIRST LEGO League group that my friend oversees. They’re coming up with ideas on how astronauts can work out in space and one of the things they had to do was talk to a “fitness professional” (me). Steven kept telling me I should use the astronaut filter to chat with them. Ha. I didn’t, but I did use it with my nephew, William.
- Check out our new neighbor’s super friendly sign at the end of their driveway. So nice! They actually have this sign on both sides of their driveway. Can’t wait to meet them! SARCASM.
- I need to rant about something really stupid. Our work doesn’t provide tissues, so I bring my own from home. I keep them in my locker and take them to whatever desk I reserved for the day (and return them to my locker at the end of the day). Apparently having them on my desk means anyone can take them without asking or saying thank you? Someone walked by my desk yesterday and did that, and it’s happened before. I got back from a meeting yesterday, and the tissues were gone, except for one. Wow, thanks for saving MY LAST TISSUE FOR ME. Apparently I need to hide them when I leave my desk. And when I’m at it. Dumb. (I wouldn’t mind sharing if people would ASK.)
- Yesterday on the train. I knitted very slowly without listening to anything (podcasts or music), and I didn’t make any mistakes. Yay!

I find stuff like that very annoying (the tissue thing). I’d just put them away.
It’s so very annoying and SILLY!!!!!!
I’m, like, outraged about the tissue situation on your behalf. That’s awful! My company DOES provide tissues (in boxes you can take from the kitchen and keep at your desk), and even with that being the case, I STILL never take tissues from someone else’s desk! Ever! It’s crazy to me that people would do that! Do you think it has anything to do with not having assigned seating? I guess I view everyone’s desk as their personal domain, and I wouldn’t want to take anything from that domain without asking, but maybe with open seating there isn’t that same feeling of ownership?
I knew YOU would get it!!! I don’t think it has much to do with the non-assigned seating. Because the desks we are able to reserve are still pretty obviously YOURS when you have them, like, partioned off and such. I think it’s just BAD manners. Like, if I had food on my desk, would they take it, too?
Wow, what an insane sign to put up in one’s yard! That would immediately raise my hackles. Blah!
Also, the tissue thing is kinda enraging. I don’t like when people take my things without asking. My college roommate (and her boyfriend) would do that all the time, and it pissed me off SO much that I once yelled down the hallway at her in anger, and that’s not my style at all. Haha.
Right? I wonder what their deal is. Not too excited to have someone so hostile on our street.
JUST ASK, RIGHT?! THAT IS ALL WE ASK (ha).
I am a bad friend, I just started following the new blog…
I can’t knit and do anything but knit, it requires concentration for me and I think that’s what I like about it.
You are not a bad friend. I did not make it super obvious I moved!
I like that about it too. There are so few things we devote 100% concentration to these days, and it feels so good when we do (it’s the flow – have you heard of that?)!
I’ve heard of a yoga flow; but not knitting, it works though 🙂
AHHH that tissue story made me so mad on your behalf. To not even ask?! (Also, that sucks that your work doesn’t provide tissues. Do they provide paper towels?? I’m guessing tampons are also not provided.)
Also, that sign? What the heck. At first, I thought it was asking people not to let their dogs pee in their yard or something, but geez. What paranoid people!
I am not sure if they provide the paper towels or if someone else brings them in. Whoever does, they are horrible so I bring my own when I need them. And yeah, no tampons either. They do have office supplies, so there’s that! (But I usually buy my own)
Yeah, really rubs me the wrong way!
OMG having my OWN BOX of Kleenex taken would cause swear-rage for me. I’m having it for you, actually. Those MFers!!!
Also, I suspect your new neighbor is a dick.
Thank you for being ragey for me! I was a bit livid in the moment. Now I am laughing about it, but totally hiding my tissues when I am in the office this week.
LOL! I think they may be, too!
Our office supplies tissues, but they are not the best quality. So sometimes I bring my own. There’s only 4 of us in the office these days (down from 20 almost 4 years ago) so I don’t notice if some are missing. And with it being cold weather season, I tend to go through them faster and more often.
Ha, with only four people, you would know if someone took your stuff! What’s with the downsizing?
