Although it felt warm out to me this weekend, it must have felt cold to this guy, because we had to evict him from the garage attic three times.
We have movement sensors* on the humane mousetraps* that we use in our attic spaces, and Steven got a notification late Saturday night that there was movement. So we got that guy out and released him.
Then again early Sunday morning.
Then again late Sunday morning. Ha. That time, I walked way farther away from the house to release him.
And he hasn’t been back. Yet.
(Ha ha ha, I wrote that too soon – I drafted this, then told Steven I was going to blog about it, and he showed me all the notifications on his phone – the mouse has been back since 2:00 am today.)
Also on Saturday, while doing yard work, a mother mouse and a bunch of baby mice ran out of the generator while Steven was leaf blowing. She ran all around with her babies attached to her, freaked the hell out. Sigh.
She finally ran up a tree, dropping a few of the babies as she went up!
I collected them all, and put them in a box for her to see. Then when she got in there, I relocated them, too.
I bet they are already back in the generator.
Snow really isn’t doing his job outside, is he?! (It’s funny I say that – because while I would be completely fine with the cats killing mice, I sure as hell won’t do it!)

Is it the same mouse that was back all those times or possibly just different mice? I kind of assumed we wouldn’t have mice because we have cats but I guess that’s not true! I have no idea now if we have mice or not.
We think it’s the same one! We were going to mark him today but he ran away, ha ha.

I think I read somewhere that you need to take them miles away or they will keep coming back. Really cute though.

Ha ha ha. Nope. Since we spent all of August last year redoing our second floor ceiling due to animal smell, we don’t want anything dying anywhere – hence the sensors so we know when we’ve trapped them (and get them out alive)! Now we need to block off wherever they are getting in.
I got really sad when you sad the mouse dropped some of her babies in her rapid escape. I’m so relieved that you put them in a safe spot for her to retrieve! That being said, I wish they’d take up residence in a more convenient (for you) space.
It made me sad too. She must have been so freaked out!
We need to figure out how to keep animals out of the generator. We’ve seen chipmunks go in there too! Sigh.
Oh my goodness, look at those teeny tiny baby mice! I can’t even imagine how small they must be in real life – grown up mice are itty bitty enough as it is! That’s a very determined little mouse you have on your hands – maybe you should build it its own house next to Snow’s so it stops trying to live in yours! They seem to get along fine anyway! Haha 😛
They were so small! I was so careful with them – I didn’t want to accidentally hurt them!
Ha! We should totally make a little mouse condo by Snow so he has company. I’ll go outside and they’ll all be sleeping together!
