Fall weather arrived in Chicagoland on Monday! Yay!
Lower temps, lower humidity and dew point, cloudy skies and windy! I’m loving it!
Let’s hope the cool weather stays around for the marathon!
Steven and I have A LOT of projects to do around the house before the real cold weather comes – planting grass seed, sealing up the house, etc. I am most excited about the non-crucial project of getting the gas starter fixed for the fire places so we can use it!

I can’t say enough how much I love this weather. But just in case – I LOVE IT.
I bet the fireplace will be nice! Terry had one in his apartment in Wheeling and really misses it!

I love our gas fireplace – it’s nice to have a fire with zero effort, plus no wood smell lingering in my house is a good thing…we’re not camping, after all.
Our is a gas starter for real wood, I believe! So I need to make sure I know how to use it so the whole house doesn’t smell like it!!!! I hope you get to use yours soon too 🙂
Oh, I forgot – we put in a cement log set about 10 years ago with our gas starter…THAT’S why I was thinking of the wood smell vs no smell. C.R.S. It’s real. 😉

I am ALL for the fall the weather! We’ve had a number of cooler days, but then it’s warmed up, but next week it looks as though the cooler temps might stick? Colorado, I’ve learned, is fairly unpredictable.
Your place looks so great, by the way! And it sounds as though you’ll enjoy the fireplace.
It definitely seems that way from our friends who live out in CO! One day they’ll post beautiful spring-like pics and the next one is a 2′ snow storm! LOL

While I am not a fan of cooler weather, I do love using my fireplace! The gas starter comes in handy!
I’m SO happy it’s finally fall! Summer lasted way too long this year (though in my opinion, pretty much anything beyond Sept. 1 is “too long” haha). And oh man, if we could have this weather (minus the wind) for the marathon…! That would probably be the only thing that would give me hope for a better performance at Chicago than I had at Fox Valley.
It did feel like it lasted a long time – I thought we’d have a few preview days of this weather in early Sept! (We had some in August last year!)

Yes, I hope it stays cool for you! It’s so disappointing when it gets cool and then hot again.
