When I was making Data’s upcoming annual vet appointment, the receptionist said to me, “Ooo, is that the cat who wears a tie?!”
Yes, yes it is. Hee hee.
For a few years, we’ve dressed Data in a tie for his vet appointments. If you can’t let your crazy cat lady flag fly at the vet’s office, where can you?!*
I told the receptionist it was indeed him, and that I would get him a new tie for his upcoming appointment.
I mean, his collection is so outdated:
I just haven’t seen any other cats wearing the faux white collar. It’s out. Skinny collars are in!
Hee hee, can’t wait to hear what they think of the new bowtie when we take him in next week. Honestly, having him wear that and having some conversation about it is a nice distraction from seeing him be uncomfortable in the vet’s office!
The other thing the receptionist said is “Wow! Data is getting old!” Yeah… their records have him at eleven years old. While his spirit and energy seems to be the same as when we adopted him in 2005, we are starting to notice very small changes in his health. I’m happy we have such a good vet to help us take care of him!

It’s good you found something like that to take your mind off of him being at the vet- and making it a much lighter experience. I always just drop CB off and pick him up later so there’s no time to wait there and worry (I just worry at work!) CB and Dates are twinsies in that they are double digits in age yet still act like crazy younger versions of themselves. Cheers to good health for our boys!
Data thinks CB should get a matching bowtie so they can be real twinsies! LOL! They’ll always be our little punks, right?

He’s so handsome in his ties! Aw I don’t think he’s “old”! Cats have nice, long lives….9 of them. Our dogs turned 15 last week. I’m kind of amazed they’re doing as well as they are.

That’s adorable! I’m sure Allie would not let me do anything like that. Her checkup is soon too, and she’ll need shots again this year. Vets here seem to carry only the 1-year rabies shot, so my poor girl will be sore.
Data doesn’t mind them at all, probably because he always wears a collar anyway. Does Allie not? I hope her appt goes well!
Awww. Data is so dapper! My old girl Delilah is turning 9 later this month. I can’t even believe it! She’s such a trooper and in great health so we are hoping we still have many more years with her.

We dress my pittie up so that people who may be uncomfortable around the breed laugh at her. It makes her more approachable. Who could be scared of a smiling dog in a pink sweater and bow?

We just found a bowtie in the office on Saturday and put it on Chewie. He wore it almost all day! I mentioned to Jason that we should have him wear it to the vet because I remembered that you put one on Data when he goes.
I saw the pic on Facebook! Super cute! I can’t wait to hear what the vet thinks of it 🙂
Hopefully then they’ll remember him as the dog who wears a bowtie and not the dog who needs to wear a muzzle and who pees everywhere.
Awww! He looks so cute in his bowtie! I think Squirt would have a conniption if we did that to her. At her age (17 in a couple weeks) I think that would be a bad thing.

Amazing that you even have a Star Wars tie for him!! He really need s a Star Trek one though, since he is Data! I wasn’t aware he was such a fashionista (fashionisto?), though I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything less!
We have a tie for Ollie but not the kitties. I guess they need neckware too!

Haha! I have a very dapper tie/collar combo that I force Oliver the cat to wear for Christmas parties. He does not love it. However, he tolerates it waaaay better than Bella. Bella does not wear accessories. She has made this very clear 🙂

my Bogie is over 12 years old. He is really starting to show his age.
The tie is adorable! We, on occasion, put a sweater on Gus – he HATES it! So, we don’t leave it on him very long.
Gus is definitely getting to be an old man, which makes me sad at times, but he’s still cute and gets excited about certain things (a walk, food, going on a road trip with us…).
Pets are really amazing – it sounds a bit silly, but our life is so much richer as dog parents.
I love those ties!!! YAY for letting the flags fly anywhere and anytime. Be proud of that!!! I always think it’s so cool when a vet or vet staff remembers my pet specifically, given that they see hundreds of pets every week. It makes me proud that my pet stands out!!! =)

Data looks so darn dapper in his tie. It’s hard when our pets age, I agree-because it’s even hard to imagine life without them. My Sammy is 7 1/2 now, and is getting the “old man face” with grey hair showing up more and more! Hope Data’s appt. went well!! XOXO
