Today is my snister’s golden birthday! Happy 25th, Christina!

Wait, what’s a golden birthday? It’s the birthday when you turn the same age as your birth date! So Christina’s is today, as she is turning 25 on the 25th. Mine will be next year, since my birthday is on the 31st!
Did you know it was your golden birthday when you had it (or have you not, yet)? If so, did you do anything “special” to celebrate?
I went to Iowa this weekend to see Christina for her golden birthday, and got her “gold-themed” gifts. As in, a lot of gold jewelry. You can never have too much jewelry, right?! RIGHT?
Oh, and some “golden” cookies of course, too:
We had a fabulous weekend! “Summer” weather came around in full force this past week/weekend, and it was perfect for being on the beach!
And I really enjoyed seeing Christina’s friends that I got to know from her wedding, as well as seeing my family, and spending the whole weekend with Rachel!!! Guttenberg, Iowa is such a special place for my family, and it makes me so happy that we can share it with our friends.

I don’t remember my golden birthday- It was when I was 8… I probably thought it was cool that I was 8 on the 8th, but it’s wasn’t a “thing” to celebrate it in my family… My mom, brother and I would have “celebrated” our golden birthdays before the age of 8.., 🙂

Happy birthday, Christina! My golden birthday was my 13th, so I did celebrate relatively big but mostly because I was becoming a teenager. Epic sleepover party. Epic. 🙂

My golden birthday was my 21st, so I definitely had fun with that one! But I didn’t actually know it was my “golden” birthday at that time, I hadn’t heard of that until the last few years.

My 18th birthday was my golden birthday, which made the day even more exciting! I had just started college a couple weeks earlier (since my birthday is September 18), so we were all still in that “OMG besties 4 lyfe!” phase that comes with the start of college, so I got all sorts of great surprises — room decorations, a poster on the mirror in the bathroom, flowers, cake: it was excellent! Honestly, one of my favorite birthdays.

My golden birthday was when I was 12 and I don’t recall doing anything special for it.

I can’t quite remember doing anything special for my golden bday – pretty sure I hung out at the fair with friends as was the usual bday tradition for me. 🙂

I was born on the 6th of August. It’s been a LONG time since I had my golden. As for turning 25, that was a LONG time ago, too. LOL
