Do you have a lucky number? What is it, and what is the story behind it?
For whatever reason, I have always been drawn to the number 33. Even in high school, I considered it my “lucky” (really, favorite) number. My team did not have enough players to have numbers that high though, so I went with 3:
We picked up our Cats with Bats shirts yesterday (I love how they turned out!) and as I was sending the photos of them to people, a few asked, “Why 33?”
I responded that it’s just always been my lucky number, and thought nothing more of why they were asking.
Then this morning, when I was talking with teammate Pete about the shirts after our Efit workout, he asked why 33, and I told him, and he said his number was 34, based off of a favorite player.
Oh.
Ha ha. Maybe that is why people were asking?
So I have to google 33 to see what I should tell people I am basing this number on! Pete suggested Scottie Pippen. But I think since I know so little about sports, I should probably just keep saying it’s my lucky number. Hee hee.
Cute shirt! I don’t have ONE lucky number but I like the #’s 3,7, and 9 best, and any combination of numbers that adds up to one of those things.

Scottie Pippen is a GREAT reason to love 33! LOL I was a HUGE Bulls fan in the late 80s, early 90s. You know, before the NBA went nuts. But anyway. You’re not asking about basketball. LOL
I do not have a lucky number, or a favorite number. I’ve never really thought about it. I am weird, though – when I heat something in the microwave, it’s never for a normal amount of time. I always go “by feel” so things end up being 37 seconds or 22 seconds, or whatever feels right at the moment. Yes, I’m crazy. LOL

And funny random story – my mom’s maiden name is Pepin so at the time when the Bulls were so good I would tell people that I was related to Scottie Pippen. Uhhh, sure Rachel.

Número 9 for me. Was my number for cross country in HS and I can’t remember if I picked it or not, but 9 is the bees knees for me. 🙂 I always get extra jazzed if my race bib has 9’s on it 😉

33 is going to be my age in a couple weeks, so that makes it lucky 🙂 (in fact, according to Buzzfeed, it’s supposedly the best year of your 30’s! We’ll see…)
My lucky number is 17, because it’s Rachel’s. Actually, because when we were assigned numbers in school (by last name), 17 was ALWAYS my number.

So they went alphabetical for numbers and you always got 17? How interesting!
I don’t know if I’d call it my “lucky” number, but I always try to get #18 whenever possible. I was born on the 18th, so it’s my favorite number 🙂 I didn’t realize basketball jerseys only used numbers from 0-5, so I was quite disappointed in middle school that I couldn’t be #18. I settled for #15 instead.
I played one year of high school soccer and was #3 on my team! Why? Because I had a crush on the boy who was #3 on the varsity soccer team. True life. Hooray for 14-year-old logic. Hahahaha.
Do basketball jerseys NEVER use those numbers? That seems odd! I wonder what that is all about!

Nope, a regulation basketball jersey will never use 6-9, because when refs signal fouls to the stats table, they use their hands to indicate the jersey number of the player who committed the foul, one hand for each digit on the jersey (so if I, as #15, fouled, the ref would hold up one finger on one hand and five on the other). Fun fact!

When I was little and played T-ball/softball I was always alphabetically assigned jersey number 3 or 4 and then in middle school when we had a limited supply of jerseys, I choose 43 because it included 3 & 4. It stuck! I also like 7 because 3 + 4 = 7.
I love how so many of us are choosing things based on what we used way back in the day!!! 🙂

I don’t have a lucky number, but I tend to prefer the even numbers.
I like odd numbers, but I somehow got married on an all even numbered day. 7 is probably my fav though.
Lots of church people believe that Jesus was 33 when he was crucified. So there’s that. 🙂

My lucky number is 22 and I have no idea why! I think I just like that it’s two 2’s…it’s balanced and pretty haha. If 22 isn’t an option I can choose, I usually go for 2. I don’t know why but I also don’t like odd numbers. We’re weird 🙂

I always say 21 is my favorite/lucky number. I recently listed to a RadioLab podcast where they were talking about favorite numbers and most people choose 7. Doesn’t matter the language or the culture, 7 tends to be chosen the most often as a favorite number. Interesting, right?

I do have a lucky number. Mine is 29. It’s related to black 29 on the roulette table. The first time I played roulette, after about 10 rounds play, I decided to put a single chip on black 29. The ball hit and I got 35-to-1 odds. I don’t always hit it, but I do put out a random chip every so often when I gamble. For those times it does hit, I smile and get another drink.
