- My biggest accomplishment this week has been not getting a headache on Wednesday, so I could go to my strength class. I got bad headaches on Monday and Tuesday and had to cancel exercise classes for both nights. So much for my big comeback in exercising. Does anyone else get regular headaches?
- I am at a new workstation in my office, with a different monitor, and I think the monitor may be causing the headaches. Or just the fact that I am back at work spending so much time looking at a monitor, after a week off from it. I was computer free most of the time we were in NYC. And loved it. Do you love taking a break from your computer from time to time?
- I am kind of upset about my work situation right now but don’t want to go in to it until I have more details. The good news is that on my new floor, I sit by the head of my organization and she asked me out for a lunch date! Now, I don’t think this is because of anything awesome I have done, but because she is from Iowa, and so am I, but hey, I am excited for the opportunity to chat with her one on one.
- I didn’t buy too many souvenirs for myself in NYC – just a few marathon related things (two tees, gloves and arm warmers), an Astoria shirt, and some scarves. I mean, come on, when the scarves are 5 for $20, I have to get some, right? The new scarves required setting up a scarf drawer when I got home though – I was hanging them up before, and now my closet is full! Fortunately I had an empty dresser. Which clothing items do you hang up, and which do you fold (and put in drawers on or shelves)?
From the top, the “York New” (ha ha), white, gray, purple (looks more blue in this picture), blue and red ones are new. The others I’ve bought this year, and the silk ones were all given to me.
- I was able to buy a few holiday gifts while we were in NYC too. I really loved shopping in Bryant Park, with all the unique little giftshops. I suppose the same people come back year after year in the shops, but I felt like I was finding a lot of little gems.
- I need more red shirts. Erin got me this really cool necklace for my birthday, and I only have one red summer shirt and one red winter sweater. Could I wear the necklace with a black top?
- What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We’re staying here, and having a meal with our friends. I will miss my family, but am happy we don’t have to travel.
As for my clothes the following go in drawers: undergarments, pajamas, socks, tanks and long & short sleeve t-shirts. My bulky sweaters and sweatshirts and my scarves are folded on shelves in my closet. Everything else is hung up.
I think you can totally wear that necklace with a black top, or even a bold colored top in a contrasting color like turquoise.
Love the necklace, it would also work with white, cream and maybe a bright yellow.
All you post from NY make me miss it1
Do you have any plans to go visit in the near future?
I don’t get headaches very often anymore (thank goodness). I LOVE taking a break from my computer. Usually when I’m on vacation I don’t look at a computer at all! I hang up nice shirts and fold t-shirts and tanks. I fold jeans but hang up dress slacks and skirts. I don’t have enough scarves for a drawer! Love all your scarves though.
You can totally wear that necklace with black and white or any other neutral color like gray.
Thanksgiving will be the same as always for me. I’ll be heading up to my parents with Delilah. Joey and I decided to do one more year of (mostly) separate holidays and then figure out how to do them together once we are married. My brother and his family (nieces!!!) will be in town for Thanksgiving this year and I’m so excited! I might do the Turkey 5k too but I’m not sure yet.
The necklace would look great with a black top! The black top will make the necklace really pop! Such a fun necklace!
I love your scarf collection!
My computer time has been drastically cut back since having the baby. Each time I think I have a few minutes to crank out a blog post, he cries. Seriously. It’s a game to him. Each time I have food or sit down to my computer, he cries (and he just started!). This is the first blog I’ve read this morning and likely the only one for now. 😛 Oh, and I feel cut off from the world as a result.
I have the brightness turned way down on my computer screen because otherwise it gives me headaches. I got really bad migraines when I was younger because of allergies, so I’m extra careful now to avoid them at all costs. I also get headaches when Im extra tired and my eyes are working harder to focus.
I definitely think you could wear that necklace with a black top. I think it would look really good with black actually.
I’m hosting a Thanksgiving breakfast. Hopefully it will be relatively mess free and I can do most of the stuff in advance.
I think you can wear that necklace with a black top or a contrasting color (royal blue or a pretty green?)
Take care with those headaches!
You could wear that necklace with any neutral, really. Or even another jewel tone if you wanted to go crazy! Purple or turquoise. It looked more orange-y to me when I bought it but I guess it is in the red family.
I have so much stuff in my dresser it’s crazy. But I’d hang a lot more if I had a big closet like yours. I just have that one tiny spot in our closet so almost everything gets stuffed in drawers or on shelves. Do you hang your sweaters? Do they get hanger nipples?
I think it’s kind of between red and orange 🙂 Orange gets tricky. I brought a bunch of orange running stuff to NYC to ask my spectators what to wear and they were like “No, that’s yellow.” “No, that’s pink.” Ok.
I fold almost all my sweaters except a few that I hang. And they don’t get the nipples!
Oh I totally think that necklace would work with a black top. I love wearing a black shirt and having it pop with a bright piece of jewelry. We are having our first married thanksgiving this year! And it’s going to be very strange because both of our families now live far away from us. So we are having our first married thanksgiving just us! And I’ve never made a turkey before, so this should be interesting!! 🙂
I bet your first married Thanksgiving will be great! Our first married Thanksgiving was spent with friends and then we were stuck at home for Christmas (our flight was canceled) just the two of us, and we loved it 🙂
All of my wicking shirts are on hangers. That’s because I have a lot apparently. I have like 2 dress shirts and one pair of dress pants. The life of t-shirts and yoga pants is thrilling!
You can wear that necklaces with all kinds of colors. Black, red, orange, blue, yellow, purple, white. Be bold! (Or, channel me. ha)
We’re headed to NJ on Sunday for a week. I’m looking forward to it but not the plane ride.
I seriously need a method for hanging up my scarves. They are all crammed into a bag that is hanging on a hook behind my door. It is not a good way – they are all wrinkled!
