Good thing I spent all of that time ironing my dress this morning.
Apparently, if you sleep on the train, when your messenger bag on your lap, it undoes any ironing previously performed. Good to know. Good to look like a doofus at work.
Ha. What do I care? I still look better in a wrinkly dress than I do on a normal work day. Signs people normally think you dress like a slob: you get lots of compliments when wearing a dress or skirt, even if it is incredibly wrinkly.
I don’t remember the last time I have gone a whole week without blogging, but honestly, I just haven’t been feeling it. I don’t even feel like writing a race report for the half marathon I ran on Saturday. I kind of drafted something up, but whenever I publish it, you’ll see that it’s pretty “meh.”
I miss being excited and happy. I just haven’t felt like myself these past few weeks. I am hoping that some downtime at home will make me feel better. Steven and I were really on the go throughout the month of April (and part of March) and I just feel worn out.
And I think having some fun events coming up soon (that do not involve traveling) will help too. We’ll see!
Adorable dress! In college, I learned to love Downy Wrinkle Releaser. It works wonders.
Don’t feel bad about not posting. Things will eventually get better. Maybe the sun will shine one of these days and the vitamin D will do you some good. π
I think you look great! Wrinkles don’t define you. π
I hope I get to see you this weekend!!
Everyone is wrinkled after a commute. Downy wrinkle releaser (travel size!) is a savior. I barely iron my clothes anymore because of it π
I will have to check that out! Thanks!
Sounds like you may need a vacation! Your wrinkled skirt looks better then any of my “ironed” clothes…I do not iron, it is against all of my beliefs.
I need a staycation! π
I dont think I’ve ever used my iron. Ever. If my clothes are wrinkly i just hope they flatten themselves out. π
You’ve been having some crazy stressful weeks- so what if blogging takes a back seat? We’ll still be around… π
And I used my iron more in college than I do now. Because, like you, at some point you just have to throw in the towel!
Despite the wrinkling, that dress FITS and looks great on you!
Thanks! That means a lot coming from a fashionista like you!
You look great in a skirt even with the wrinkles! Hope you are feeling more like yourself soon! I miss your happy posts!
Thanks! I miss my happy posts too. I miss feeling happy most of the time.
I love that dress! even with wrinkles. heh. I know what you mean about sleeping on the train though. I always hope that people realize that the wrinkles appear AFTER I left the house. hehe.
I’ve been missing your posts this week but have been super busy and not posting much myself. I’ve kept you in my thoughts. I hope you get back to your normal, chipper self soon.
But you look ADORABLE!!!
Oooooh, that is the problem with cotton skirts. I might have some of that Downey stuff people are talking about. If it didn’t get trashed in last summer’s flood anyway. If I still have it I’ll bring it to you.
And while I worry about you when you’re down (hey, that’s part of being a friend!) I know that life has ebbs and flows and right now you’re just in an ebb. You’ll be back in the flow soon enough I’m betting.
Oh yes! If you have it, please bring it!
I think I will snap out of this soon. Maybe the nice weather will help? Ha ha. I think it’s too HOT!
I HATE ironing! My mother actually just insisted on buying me an iron when she was here visiting a couple of weeks ago.
I’m sorry to hear about your grandma, by the way π
I have gone through phases where I just feel like I’m in a big funk and really down. Maybe planning a vacation or getaway will help? Just remember that this too shall pass!
That dress = adorable, wrinkles and all…
I totally understand that you’ve needed a break, but I have to say, I miss your posts. Hope your zest finds you again soon π
Thanks Bobbi. You have been so good to me. I almost called you on Sunday when I was about to have an emotional breakdown. But I decided not to (since it was Mother’s Day!). π
you totally should have – I spent it in my jammies π you can call anytime….
I’ll make sure to call next time π
I bought a very nice pair of Ralph Lauren pants and the button fell off in two weeks. I don’t have a sewing kit so I’ve been safety-pinning them when I need to wear nice pants for work. (I wear a shirt that covers it at least!) I CANNOT DRESS MYSELF.
Also, agreed that you have had a ton going on and can cut yourself some slack for not feeling happy or wanting to blog. But I do hope you feel happy and excited soon!
Ha! You crack me up!!!
Thanks. I hope I feel that way soon. This reminds me of how I got two summers ago when I just shut myself off from everyone! I do NOT want to do that again – that was BAD!
you’ve had a lot of things happen lately and it’s ok to just feel that for a bit. you’ll come back around to yourself when you’ve had time to process (says the girl who went through a pretty intense family situation this fall)
good luck and know we are here, whenever
What Bobbi says but I understand that life gets in the way of being happy sometimes. I still want to hear your race report for the same race!
Awww – I hate to hear about the blahs… whatever they are due to! It sounds like you’re worn out. You look good in the dress, and people recognize the effort you’re making. Take the time you need from blogging.
I do love the update to your blog’s banner. Was that you & Erin finishing the 1/2 or the 5K @ Illini Stadium? Very cool pic.
Thank you! I wore a dress again today (it’s so damn hot!) and got more comments. π
I think I need some more hot yoga! I hope that works for us again soon. How have you been?
Thanks! That was the 5K! π
Sorry that I’m jumping on here so late! I think it’s okay to have funks and to not feel overly motivated, especially if one has had to deal with a lot of ‘stuff’ going on. I do hope that you can recharge, whether it’s from taking a much-needed break or from new activities that give you something to look forward to.
aww, I do the same thing with cars or airplanes π
but I really like how that looks on you! Even the dark tights and flat are very flattering π
very cute dress! saw ur pic on bobbi’s blog. so jealous of the cheese medal!
You’ve been through a LOT. Like, a lot a lot. top that with the winter that won’t die, and I’m sure that the blahs are to follow.
Give it a few 80 degree days andyou’ll be right as rain!
