What kind of computer do you use? How long have you been using it? Do you like it?
I have a Dell Latitude D800 (on the left above) that I have been using since September of 2004. And I have an HP Mini (on the right above) that I have been using since April of 2009. My Dell has been reformatted numerous times, as well as had the motherboard and other various things replaced. I really like it… when it works. It’s been acting funny lately, and Steven’s going to look in to it. The HP Mini is awesome for traveling because it is so lightweight! I take it downtown with me every day!
I’m curious to hear what other people are using!
Side Note – I had my sister order me new running shoes with her Amazon Prime account yesterday and they came today! Holy crap that is fast! Thanks, snister!*
I love new running shoes! How often do you get new running shoes? I have been rotating between two pairs at a time. This is my third pair of Asics Gel Cumulus 12s. I got the lavender ones this time.
Ooo, and know what else I love? Working from home and dressing like a bum! Oh yeah… sweatpants all day long, baby!
*No Dad, I did not misspell “sister” – that is a word that Christina and I call each other.
I have an Acer something or other laptop. Helpful right?
I like it most of the time, but sometimes it gets really slow.
I’ve never heard of an HP mini before…but I must have one!
I have my work laptop that I use way too much for personal stuff (um…like right now), but quickly switch to our Mac once my husband gets home from work.
I was thinking that other day that I really should have my own laptop so I can store our photos on that so they don’t slow down the husband’s computer while he is working…
So you and your husband just share a laptop?
The HP Mini is awesome, especially if you travel! 🙂
We do just share the one…except like I said, I use my work laptop waaaay too much for personal stuff.
I just told my H about the mini laptop…maybe one will show up on my doorstep soon!
I am so wishing I was working from home today…
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop (from 2008) that works well. I also have my work laptop (a Lenovo) that I take with me back & forth & on work trips. I wish I had a more lightweight device, for travel in particular.
I had a Dell Inspiron. I can’t remember the series but I can look at it if you’re interested (I’m sure they don’t make it anymore, it was from 2005). I had to reload windows one time and get a new hard drive another, but otherwise it was a great computer that lasted me a long time. Recently it bit the dust because of the connection between the power cord and the battery (both worked fine but they the connection was too loose and it stopped charging the battery).
Now I have a Toshiba that I bought at Staples. I can send you the specific info if you’re interested. I like it a lot so far. It’s weird now to switch from my Dell work laptop to my Toshiba now though (the mouse pads are quite different). I’m still adjusting to Window’s 7 though since up until this point I’ve only ever had XP.
As for running shoes, I usually get about 2 new pairs per year depending on how much running I do. I usually keep the newest pair at work and then the other pair at home but the situation is reversed right now since the last pair I bought were purchased well before I actually needed new shoes.
I think I should take pair to work and leave them there. Right now I have an old pair of Asics there.
I will let you know if I want the Toshiba specs if we start looking! Steven probably already has something in mind, ha ha.
Not fair I want to be home in my sweat pants right now! I have a mac book right now but before I had a dell inspirion laptop in college. I love the mac so much better. I try to rotate through two pairs of shoes at a time. I think i need new ones because I have over 400 miles on one pair!
I hope we have a Mac someday! 🙂
We use both a Dell desktop and a Dell laptop. I love them both….
I’ve got a Lenovo IdeaPad and an iPad. I like them both just fine.
Mmmmm lavender shoes!
Love the picture hugging the new shoes. Haven’t actually hugged a new pair (yet), but I know the feeling. Nothing better than lacing up a shiny new pair for the first time. It’s a shame they’re so crazy expensive.
That is why I had my sis get them with her free shipping… but they are still so expensive! 🙁
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. I like it. I guess. It works, except I need to buy a new battery. It’s basically a laptop with a power cord right now because the battery only lasts about 30 minutes. 🙁
I *love* Amazon Prime!!! I had a free trial for the longest time and got spoiled with the 2 day shipping. I’m also rotating 2 pairs right now- Brooks Adrenaline.
I used to use the Adrenalines! They’re a great shoe!
I have an Amazon Prime account through work since if you have an email address that ends with .edu you can get one for free. I always forget to use it though!
As for computers, I have a Dell desktop that Jason bought for me. It’s an Inspiron something or other (I think). I don’t know exactly what my work computers are other than Dells. I’m so helpful, huh? For a long time I had desktops that Jason built for me. My Dell is the first “stock” computer since my Compaq in college.
I use an Apple iMac most of the time and an HP Mini when I’m on the road. (<3 solid state hard drive, but it's so slow!)
As for running shoes, I typically replace them every 350 miles or so. I keep an excel document to total things up.
I have an Acer Aspire 500, which I got four years ago. Mine, too, has been reformatted a couple of times (just last month, in fact), and i finally updated it with Windows 7 and MS Office 2010. I’ve had to replace the harddrive already, once. I love it. I was also using a Macbook Air for a while, but I’m really not a fan. I like the PC.
I’m a Mac girl all the way now after using an iBook for the last 7 years. I need a new one soon though.
I used to wear the Cumulus when I was a more serious runner and loved them. How much were they on Amazon prime?
I think they were still $89, with free shipping. I don’t think a new model has come out yet, so now discounts!
I get new running shoes twice a year. I’ve been sticking with Asics Gel Foundation 9 (I think that’s what they’re called, Asics has complicated names!) I have flat feet and over-pronate, which has resulted in IT band problems in my left leg, so I need to keep up with good shoes. But, you know what drives me crazy? All the cute shoes with the fun colors are for neutral feet! I’m stuck with shoes that range from really ugly to mildly ugly. I don’t think the shoe companies realize that over pronators are stylish people too! Ugh. If ANYONE out there knows of some motion control shoes that aren’t stupid looking, let me know on my blog! I’ll be writing a post about this tomorrow.
I have the Brooks Ariel motion control. The new one’s in silver/green are nice looking imo. I know the new balance aren’t great looking either but they could be worse. LOL.
I wish I knew of more shoes! I know what you mean. All the cute ones are the running flats. I would LOVE an orange pair of shoes! Mine are always white with accents though.
You’re welcome snista!
My husband just moved my stuff over to a macbook. I just got my second pair in 3 months of Brooks. Brooks is replacing my first pair since they were fraying. I think Brooks don’t last long. hmm but I got a steal on this new pair and am thinking of ordering another pair.
MacBook Pro at home, and a different MacBook Pro at work.
We have an HP laptop (bought 100 years ago in 2006) and an HP desktop (purchased a year ago). I loved the Mac computers we had all over campus when I was in college. If/when our current computers bite the dust, I’m considering a mac.
Since 1985, I’ve been a Mac user. For most everything I’ve done for my IT career, it’s been Windows.
My current machine is a 2009 MacBook Pro 15-inch. I love this computer as it’s been reliable and fun to use. I’ve also got a Mac mini at home that is a community computer that both my wife, her granddaughter and myself use.
I have a Dell laptop that I’ve had for 4 years, I think? It works pretty well but sometimes is sloowwww and I would love to upgrade. My next computer will be a Mac…someday. But really, since I just bought a car yesterday, I need this one to last…um…a while!!! 😀
I’m a Mac, I love it, almost 20 years now; but I give a bit more history in my blog post.
