Have you ever had to take one of those personality tests which asks you to choose two words in a set of four – the one that describes you most, and the one that describes you least?
I had to complete one for work last week. Those test always make me laugh. The sets they put together seem to just be mostly synonyms, or a set of “bad” characteristics or a set of “good” characteristics.
In each of the two sets below, pick which word (1-4) describes you the most, and which word (1-4) describes you the least.

I made up this example.
I get that the idea is for you to pinpoint which adjective you most identify with, and which you least identify with. Sometimes it’s just hard to choose! But I think the tests are fun to fill out. They always seem to pinpoint me. I had to take one for the first job that I got after college and it had my personality down pat. It was kind of scary.
If you’ve had to take a personality test, did you find the results to be accurate or inaccurate?
According to the toothpaste test I’m impulsive and life of the party. 😉 Sounds about right.
I have taken personality tests before but not like the one you mentioned. I think I often fall borderline on a lot of the tests. I suppose that means I’m balanced?
I love taking those tests for some reason. I find that the Myer Briggs test, even the little short version online, is scarily accurate. It also just helps me think about other people in the workplace having different ways of doing things than I do.
I think that is the point of this one – learning how everyone else in the office works and how to work with them!
Yep, I’m with Julie re: the Myers Briggs. Mine is pretty dead on and hasn’t changed over the years.
The dating website I’m on has some fun little personality quizzes that crack me up–and those are also frighteningly accurate. i.e., I’m single because I’m pretty satisfied with my life as it is, and as a romantic partner I’m “idealistic, with very specific ideas of what love should be like”. Gee, that doesn’t sound familiar at all. 😉

It’s been a while since I’ve taken a personality test… but from what I remember, they were pretty spot on.
Very interesting. I’ve done a lot of personality tests in college (psych classes mostly) and even afterwards for work and just for fun. For the most part, I find them pretty spot-on. It’s interesting to read!
With the labels that are included, who doesn’t want to be “life of the party”? 🙂 Personality tests are definitely interesting!
I’ve taken them before but can never remember what the outcomes were. Maybe that means they weren’t that accurate? Or perhaps part of my personality is not remembering stuff like that 🙂
I love those tests! I always get a kick out of them. Usually they are accurate for the most part, but it’s been awhile!
Mine are always pretty much spot on. I’m crazy. That’s what they all tell me.
