When you buy/receive new clothes, do you wash them before wearing them?
Weird question, right? Well, I don’t wash my new clothes. I just wear them. Steven washes his new clothes. I am in the minority on this one, right?
A few things I won’t be washing before wearing:
We returned that orange vest after everyone said it made me look puffy.

I don’t have New Year’s Eve plans, and I don’t make resolutions, but I would love to hear yours, if you have either!
No I don’t wash them either.
No new clothes. Unless I count the sweeter than sweet new running jacket I got for myself. Just had to. Of course now it’s probably too warm to wear it.

I don’t wash things before I wear them but my future sister in law does. I think its just personal preference or something.

I only wash new things before wearing them if they are underwear. Otherwise I pretty much always wear them after tearing off the tags.
I got some new running pants and capris and some running socks… and a shirt and jacket (all things I picked out and tried on first).

We are going out tonight to a restaurant/lounge to see a friend play music. It’s the first time in approx. forever that we’ve gone out for new year’s eve.
I don’t for me except underwear, but I always wash my kids clothes first. I have no idea why.

Eh, I don’t even wash stuff AFTER I’ve worn it. I’ll wash it after it gets something I can’t scrape off with my fingernail.
EVERYTHING gets washed before I wear it. One time I was going into a dressing room to try something on and I saw this lady coming out (having tried on her selections) and return the clothing to the rack. The issue was that she looked very gross, all dirty and sweaty. It made me think that whoever ended up buying those clothes was going to wear her filth. Yup, EVERYTHING!
I don’t think I wash anything before I wear it except underwear… that’s weird, isn’t it? Because it’s sort of gross now that I think about it…
And I loaded up on some running gear over Christmas- it’s so easy for my family to figure out what I want. :p
I don’t wash my clothes before I wear them, but now I think I need to start washing my underwear, unless I buy it online. I’m getting all itchy thinking about it, ha!
Oh, and my mom always washes any new dishes/silverware when we buy them.
Ha, my mom is really anal/insistent about washing things before wearing. If it’s close to my body–i.e. underwear, pj’s, or sheets–then yes. Shirts and pants and socks? Not so much.
I always get pajamas and socks from my mom for Christmas, which makes me happy because she always finds good ones and I always need them! (I really need some sweaters for work, but I’d prefer to pick those out myself)
I think clothes always hang best that first wear, pre-wash. Mr. P would wear his dirty old clothes before wearing not washed new clothes!
Jeans, t-shirts and socks are items I DON’T wash first. I’m ok to wear them without being washed first. Especially if they fit good.
Under garments (boxers and white t’s) are obvious wash first items, even if it’s sealed in a package.

tonight, as soon as i can finish work (ARGH) i’m off to spend the evening with friends and lots of bubbly!

I got a ton of running clothes for Christmas. Most excited about my Nike running skirt with built in capris 🙂 (I would never buy that for myself but it’s so cute and flattering)
We don’t have any plans tonight either…we never really do anything for New Years. Don’t feel like fighting crowds, drunks and overpriced fixed menus 🙂 We’ll likely go get a bottle of wine, watch Dick Clark and go to bed! haha
It depends. If it’s something that I think will look and hang the same post-wash (or it’s something that doesn’t need to be dry cleaned) then I’ll wash it first. Otherwise I just wait until I get something on it or it smells too much like deodorant 🙂

I got no clothes for Christmas, but since I was in Costa Rica, I really haven’t done much Christmassy yet; I don’t see Mom until Sunday. But statistically (4 out of 5 gift holidays) my Mom will by me some kind of long sleeve pull-over (“because I never wear things like that”) which I’ll never wear (“because I don’t like things like that”).
I resolve to exercise more, blog more, and visit friends more.

I totally wash them first – although that is more because my wife tells me to than anything.
