Some more photos of the Chicago Marathon have trickled in (including the official photos). The first three are from Kevin. Now you can see what it looked like when I gave him and his wife, Katie, a hug around mile 17. Can you see the look of relief on my face to see them? I hope they threw away the clothes they were wearing when I gave them those sweaty hugs.
The next five are some photos our friend Abbie took when she saw me at mile 11. This is when Steven ran with me a bit. Notice what my back says on it?

Have you ever ordered your official race photos? Do you think I should order any of those?

don’t have less running related posts! that’s a HUGE accomplishment…revel in it! Great pictures. I’ve ordered official race photos and in fact, it’s hard to think of when i haven’t. They sometimes get the full effect of what’s going on, rather than the posed pictures before and after!

Hey…I am so behind in reading, commenting (and my own blogging) but I wanted to tell you CONGRATULATIONS! What an awesome accomplishment 🙂 The pics are great! I have never ordered any official race photos (b/c they have all been HORRIBLE) but was actually considering ordering a couple from the Wine and Dine b/c they are kind of fun.

I like 10, 12 and 30 the best. I did not order any photos from walking the 5K. I learned that sometimes the unguarded moment is not that flattering!
I like #30 too. I was hoping one of those would turn out. I was trying really hard to look energetic at the end! 😉

Nice race pics! I have only ever purchased a finish picture for my friend’s first race and another friend bought my first marathon finish picture for me.
Ha! So I need to ask for them as a gift! Good idea 😉 Oh wait, but then I have to gift them to someone else… 😉

I put my MP3 (a sony walkman) in my bra. That is where my phone was too and it got ruined from all the sweat. Literally ruined. I had to get a new phone yesterday. I usually don’t put it there too, but I wanted to be able to hear it. Oops!

Those are pretty good race pics. At first, I thought…”Wow, Kim must be really tall! They kept cutting off her head.” Then, I read the bottom and you explained that it’s the WP program that’s doing that. I chuckled at myself. 🙂 I ordered pics from the IM – $129! But I figured it would be the only time for me. I made a shutterfly book with them and ones from my parents. Now, I have a book of memories…

I have never ordered race photos but i always wanted too. They are just so expensive even for a disc of all the images. I have only run races that use Brightroom and I think they are a little over priced so I never buy them.
I’ve never ordered prints before but I seriously considered it from my half. There was at least one really good picture of me and it included a few of my running buddies in it… and it was early on in the race so we were still smiling. 🙂 But I couldn’t convince myself the $ was worth it. Maybe if I ran a marathon… but it looks like you got a few good shots of you from spectators.
When I do my small town races up where I grew up, the photographer does not sell the photos. They just post them and you can save them and use them as you please. Those are my most favorite race photos ever! 🙂
That is so cool! I wish they were all done that way. Ha. That would be hard for a big race like the Chicago Marathon!

I think you have to get atleast one picture of your first marathon! My personal favs are 24, 31 & 32. Kevin and Abby took some nice shots, too!
If there is one photo you should order, it should be the one marked as “officialphoto24” I love the arms up in the air as you crossed the finish line. It says something about victory and completion.
Wow, you have GREAT pictures!! I love the smiles on your face. 🙂 Though I really, really hate to shell out so much money for official pics, I don’t like to regret NOT getting them….ya know? Especially if it’s for something special (a new distance, a PR, etc.). You have a tough choice ahead of you, because there are so many good ones! And I love the ones with the trees changing color in the background.
I was talking to my husband about it, and I think I might do the option where you can download ALL of them for about $80. It is a steep price, but then I will have them all and can do whatever I want with them!
And I do need one of me crossing the finish line since no one was there to see it!
