On Friday I was exchanging short, back-and-forth, conversational ( read: not work related) emails with a client of mine. We were talking about the project, and what our plans were for the weekend.
In each email exchange to me, there was a word I didn’t know.
And actually had to look up on dictionary.com.
How embarrassing.
I want to be the one making other people look up works, not the other way around, dammit!

Oh man, I hate when stuff like that happens!!! I am awful with long/big words…
Don’t feel embarrassed! I think its great that you took the time to look up a word…you probably won’t forget it now thus building your vocab!
Bethany – At least it wasn’t in person, and I didn’t have to ask “what does that mean?” Ha ha!
Gina (Mannyed) – That’s true. I remember what they mean for sure… and the sentences they were used in!
I’ve learned a lot of new words playing FreeRice. If it’s levels are an accurate indication, my vocabulary’s pretty good, but I still look up stuff all the time. I like to know the nuances of one word over another.

You don’t need to know the definition of every word so long as you can figure it out based on context. Knowing too much will make your head implode, or so I’m told.
LOL! Your anything but stupid girl! One word does not a genius make! You are highly intelligent and anyone can see that- I can see it by how you write! And, dictionary.com is a good friend of mine 😉
kapgar – The thing is, the context didn’t help with these words. It was one of those sentences like “Something is so adjective that Kim doesn’t know and has to look up. I will make sure I don’t learn too many words! 😉
